In class, made the following notes about the structure of each stanza of The Raven: - Line 1 has a rhyme in the middle and at the end ex - dreary/weary, remember/December, stronger/longer - Line 2 rhymes with line 4 and 6 ex - lore/door/more, floor/Lenore/evermore, before/door/more Line 3 follows the same pattern as line 1 ex - napping/tapping, morrow/borrow, beating/repeating Lines 2, 4, 5, and 6 always end with the "ore" sound ex - lore/door/more/floor/Lenore/ashore/implore/core/yore, and of course, Nevermore. Lines 4 and 5 always end with the same word ex - door/door, Lenore/Lenore, floor/floor Try to construct a 1 stanza poem the follows as many of these rules as possible.  It does not have to be directly related to the Raven.

Think of how 2001: A Space Odyssey was marketed to two different audiences.  Based on what you have seen so far, to whom would you market Stand and Deliver?  Why do you think your target audience would be interested in paying to see this movie? You will be designing elements of an advertising campaign next week.

Be prepared to research your speech topic tomorrow.  If you do not have specific questions to answered you will not be allowed to work on the computers.  This is likely to be the only class time alloted for research. Reminder - There is no school for students Friday because of parent/teacher conferences and report cards.  I look forward meeting with all parents to discuss current marks and the upcoming term.
