April 15 - Grade 7 HW

Practice your speech.  Your draft should be complete at this point and you should be making revisions as you practice.  Remember, the speech is to be 3-5 minutes. Finish the questions from the article on Hydrualic Fracturing. There is no current events sheet this week.

April 11 - Grade 8 HW

Your speech drafts should be complete, we will continue to work on revisions tomorrow.  Questions from On the Sidewalk Bleeding should be turned in as well as activities related to the Fracking articla. Hang on to the Trip to the Moon story.  We will have a vocabulary exercize next week

April 11 - Grade 7 HW

Your Social Studies test should have been turned in today.  If it wasn't turn it in first thing tomorrow. Illustrator/Connector/Predictor sheet for The Butterfly Revolution should also be turned in. Run your speech draft by me tomorrow to make sure you're on the right track.  Most are looking pretty good at this point.  Try practicing your speech to ensure that it is about 3 minutes long.

Speech Draft - Deadline

Rough drafts of speeches were due today.  Anyone not turning in a speech draft should plan to attend study hall after school this Tuesday (April 9).

April 4 - Grade 8 HW

Complete the rough draft of your speech. Several students have not handed in their 6 line poem (see HW assignment for April 2) or the questions for On The Sidewalk Bleeding (see HW assignment for April 3).  It is in your best interest to complete these assignments and get off to a good start for this final term.

Complete an Illustrator/Connector/Predictor sheet for either The Butterfly Revolution or Stand and Deliver. Finish the rough draft of your speech.  We will revise them next week and practice delivery.  Speeches should take between 3 and 5 minutes to deliver.
