Last night two of our students were recognized for their achievements at our school. Kolton and Kylo Patles received the Turnaround Achievement Award at the Rodd Miramichi River Hotel. The boys were recognized for their success this year and it was well deserved. Congratulations Kylo and Kolton from everyone here at Natoaganeg School!
There will be two basketball camps this summer at Miramichi Valley High School. The first camp will be for one week, is for both boys and girls and will focus on developing sound fundamentals through individual instruction and compettions, as well as team oriented activities. The instructors are all teachers in the Miramichi area and bring a wealth of coaching and teaching experience to this summer camp. There will be one session offered each day from 9:00am to 12:00pm designated for players cyrrently in Grades K-5 and from 1:00pm to 4:00pm designated for players currently in Grades 6-8.
Congratulations to Gianna Walker for winning the Cineplex Movie certificate for the newsletter entry ballot. We had 31 ballots out of a possible 76 entries! Let's see if we can get 76 next month! Congratulations to Mariah Ward and Chloe Francis for winning the Tim's Card to treat their parents at TIM HORTON"S for a donut and a coffee in appreciation of getting them to school on time.
The Home and School will be hosting a parent volleyball game against our girls volleyball team. We are also selling spaghetti and meatball plates for $7.00. This will happen at the school from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Thursday, May 7th. This fundraiser is in support of our future scoreboard for the gym. We really love to see all parents participating. Please pass along this information to family and friends to come out and support this fundraiser.

It is with deep sadness that we have learned the passing of our former Prncipal, Mr. John Hawkes. Mr Hawkes passed away on Friday. He was diagnosed with ALS and lived everyday with passion and a caring nature with everyone he met. He will be resting at Mahre's Funeral Home in Chatham with visiting hours on Monday, April 27, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm, and Tuesday,April 28, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 29, at 11:00am at St. Michael's Basilica, Miramichi.
Congratulations to Hannah Gould who won an award at the Miramichi Regional Heritage Fair in Nelson-Miramichi on Friday. Hannah won the New Brunswick Aboriginal Affairs Secretariat Award for her Heritage Project. Congratulations to Hannah, Mr. Champagne and all of the Grade 7 students who displayed excellent projects on their Native Heritage.
