For those of you that read my teacher page: On a blank sheet of paper, name the six traits of effective writing and put it in the homework bin before you leave.  You will receive extra credit if it is in on Wednesday.  (pssst - Ideas, Organization, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, Voice, and Conventions...but you already knew that anyway.)

If you have been keeping up and using your class time effectively, you should be almost ready to deliver your speech.  This should be 3-5 minutes.  You will be graded seperately on the written portion and on the delivery. For your delivery, you will be graded on:Posture - Stand up straight and try to look relaxed!Eye Contact - Look your audience in the eyes and connect with them.Enunciation - Open your mouth wide and speak clearlyRate - Don't speak too quickly or too slowlyVolume - Speak loudly enough for everyone to hear easily, but make sure you don't yell.

Complete any unfinished assignments and practice your speech. Boys - We will be making a few things for the movie tomorrow while the girls are away.  Bring old clothes, you will have an opportunity to change.

Your speech drafts should be complete, we will continue to work on revisions tomorrow.  Questions from On the Sidewalk Bleeding should be turned in as well as activities related to the Fracking articla. Hang on to the Trip to the Moon story.  We will have a vocabulary exercize next week

Your Social Studies test should have been turned in today.  If it wasn't turn it in first thing tomorrow. Illustrator/Connector/Predictor sheet for The Butterfly Revolution should also be turned in. Run your speech draft by me tomorrow to make sure you're on the right track.  Most are looking pretty good at this point.  Try practicing your speech to ensure that it is about 3 minutes long.
