Active TransportationAnother way to accumulate 60 minutes of physical activity each day is by using active transportation. What is active transportation? It means to walk, bike or rollerblade instead of going by car! To do this:-Put on your sneakers, strap on a backpack and walk all, or part of the way to school.-Think twice before asking for a drive. Could you walk or use your bike instead?Did you know that if children walked for all trips less than one kilometer they would accumulate approximately 15 to 20 minutes of walking per trip?

Energy Drinks and Sport Drinks Energy drinks (ie. Redbull, Monster, Red Rain, Rockstar, Amp, Five hour Energy) claim to give you more energy and make you more alert. However, they are full of caffeine and sugar! They also contain other substances, such as guarana, that has 2-3 times more caffeine than a coffee bean. The amount of caffeine in most energy drinks exceeds the recommendations for children.

Anti-Bullying Week November 18 to 22Posted November 6, 2013November 18th to 22nd is Anti-Bullying Week in the province of New Brunswick and in the rest of Canada. Throughout the week, our school will be providing students with information and having classroom discussions and lessons around the topic of bullying.  “Together Let’s Take a Stand Against Bullying! ” . There will be skating for our students on Tuesday morning, November 19th. Remember to bring your skates and helmets. Parents are welcome to attend as well. If anyone has extra skates or helmets they would like to danoate to our school, it would be greatly appreciated.

Parent Teacher Day will be held this Monday, November 18th. Report Crads will be handed out by homeroom teachers during the meetings. Teachers will be available to meet parents  between 9:00am and 3:00pm. There will be no school on Monday for students.
