The Eel Ground School Drama Club had their draw last night for our Easter Basket. The lucky winner was Cindy Ginnish! Thanks to everyone for your support as all money raised goes towards covering the costs of attending the New Brunswick Drama Festival in Fredericton April 30-May 2.
The Eel Ground girls Junior Varsity Volleyball team travelled across the river Wednesday. The girls played in Dr. Losier and came home with 3 wins and two losses. the team was a bit shorthanded but played great as a unit. Coaches, Mrs.Harris and Mrs. K. Francis were really pleased at the parent turnout to support the team. It means a lot to the players. Also if there is anyone who can help out with transportation to and from the games it would be greatly appreciated! The team will have a practice Thursday after school.
softballThe Nelson Softball Association will be hosting a two day softball skills clinic on May 5 and 6 weekend at the Merle Doyle Field in Nelson. The clinic is open to both boys and girls currently enrolled in any District 16 Middle School. The cost is $12 and includes lunch each day and a clinic T-shirt.Deadline for registration is April 6th.To register, please contact Kevin at 622-4144 or Blake at 625-4629.
Fly tyingThe Eel Ground Atlantic Salmon Fly Fishing and Sportsman Show took place over the weekend. Friday saw many of our students taking part in Fly-Tying Instruction by High school students from MVHS and Blackville High,as well as some of the best fly-tiers on the river. Saturday the show featured Fishing Guides, Outfitters as well as authors and fly tackle shops. The Ground Search and rescue had a trailer set up outside and the Department of Fisheries and oceans as well as the Department of Natural Resources were on hand to answer any questions.
