Our first Home and School meeting will be held on Monday, October 6th. All parents interested in helping out with our school are welcome to attend.We are always in need of volunteers and if you can donate even once some of your time it would be greatly appreciated. The Cross Country team is off and running well! On Wednesday the Middle School runners were at Dr. Losier. In the Grade 6 boys division Eric Paul finished 2nd overall with a blistering run. In the girls Grade 6 division, Sage Simon came across the line in 6th with Savannah Simon coming home in 8th. Janessa Francis and Teri Anne Vicaire also finished strong in their season debut. The Elementary Cross Country Runners were competing at Gretna Green School on Wednesday. Kaido Simonson finished 5th amongst Grade 3 boys, while Kaitlyn Hamilton Ward finished up in 7th place.
The Elementary Soccer Season kicked off this week with a pair of exciting contests. On Tuesday. the Eel Ground First Nation School Eagles played their season opener at St. Andrews School in Chatham. The Eagles battled hard for the entire 50 minutes, but ultimately came up short 5-0. Rodney Hanifan and Kohen Simonson stood tall in goal for the Eagles. Coach Somers was thrilled with their effort by all his players in their first game. On Thursday, the Eagles ventured to Millerton to challenge the Bears. The tide swung back and forth many times in this nail-biter.
Ready to run. Eel Ground First Nation School Cross Country teams will be competing in both Elementary and Middle School Divisions this year. The Elementary team will compete at Gretna Green Elementary at 4pm on Wednesday September 17th. On the same day the Middle School team will travel to Dr Losier Middle School. Picture day that was scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday September 10, has been postponed until Tuesday, October 14. At this time, pictures will be taken and proofs will be sent home at a later date for you to pick and purchase. Anyone that has paid for packages already, the money will be returned. Football New Brunswick is offering a football program this fall in Miramichi for children born between 2001-2004. The program will run from September 7 to October 19th . The cost is $50.00 and includes equipment rental, registration and insurance!Practice will be held on Sunday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Miramichi Valley High School Rugby Field. Parents and guardians are encouraged to attend our Meet the Teacher evening on Thursday, September 11th. Staff will be at the school from 5:00pm to 6:00pm to answer any question you have or comments about your child's education.
There will be no school on Monday September 15th. Tecahers will be attending a learning session all day. School will resume on Tuesday, September 16th.
