Hard to believe but the first week of school is almost over! There are many changes this year at Eel Ground First Nation School. We have a new principal, Mrs. Helen Bernard Ward. Three new teachers, Miss Megan Flower who is teaching Grades 5-6, Mrs Jessica Dunnett, who is teaching Grades 6-7 and Miss Tessy Taylor who is our new Physical Education and Health teacher. We also welcome back Miss Bev O'Leary our new K-4 teacher and Mrs. Sara Cooper a new Educational Assistant. Miss Kara Cooper is now our Grade 3-4 teacher and Mrs. Serena Harris who is now our Grade 1-2 teacher.

The instructional day is from 8:30am to 2:30pm. Please do not drop off students at the school before 8:15am, as there will be no supervision.No student wil be allowed beyond the school lobby prior to 8:15am.

Here's whats happening this week at Eel Ground School!Monday, June 10th: K4-Gr 2 Field trip to Magnetic Hill Zoo       Gr 3-8 planting Community Garden        BBq at NoonTuesday, June 11th: Gr 5-8 Field Trip to French Fort Cove for Geo Caching    BBQ at Noon    Softball game vs Teachers    Hawaiin Dance from 4pm-6pm School Gym admission $3.00    Wednesday, June 12th: Field Trip for Gr 3-4 to Middle Island        Planting the Community Garden BBQ at Noon     Thursday, June 13th: Graduation and Awards Ceremony at 1:00pm in school gym      Friday, June 14t

We welcome any help June 10th and 12th from 9:00am to 12:00pm and from 1:00pm to 2:30pm both days as we plant the two gardens at the Rising Sun and at Lloyd Ginnish's property across from the school.There will be a barbecue both days at 12:00pm at the school Thank you for your support!

End of the year Field Trips have been finalized and will be as follows:June 10th: K5 to Grade 2 to Magnetic Hill Zoo, bagged lunches will be provided please make sure students are dressed for the weather and are wearing sunscreenJune 11th: Grades 5-8 will be going to French Fort Cove for Geo Caching at 9:30am followed by a Barbecue at the school and a softball game vs teachers.Wear sunscreen and dress for the weather!June 12th: Grades 3-4  will be going to Middle island at 9:30am. Dress for the weather and wear sunscreen!

There will be a information session on our school's Nutrition Policy on Wednesday, June 5th and Thursday June 6th. It will take place during school hours.
