Former NHL hockey player, Theo Fleury will be here on the Miramichi for a presentation to all middle level students of District 16 and affiliated First Nation schools regarding drug abuse prevention and prevention of sexual abuse. This event will be held Friday, June 01st, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the Miramichi Civic Centre.

announce that our fish friends in grade 1-2 are soon coming out of their stage
and will soon be going into their salmon par stage. They are eating twice a day and now we are noticing that some are swimming towards the food. It is very exciting! Stop by and see them today.
On Wednesday May 2, Dr. David Bardsley will be speaking at James M. Hill High School from 4:30 to 6:30pm. Tickets are $10.00 and can be purchased here at the school. Dr. Bardsley is the author of the book "the less than Perfect Child." He was misdiagnosed with mental retardation at the age of 6.With the never-ending support of his parents, he went on to become an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. A must see for parents and educators!
Friday the girls volleyball team will be playing at Dr. Losier Middle School in the Volleyball Jamboree. A schedule will be sent home with the girls when it becomes available. The girls had a great season finishing third. We wish them good luck on Friday!

On Thursday April 26, the drama Club will be performing their play "the Sleepover". They will be performing at 1:00pmfor students and at 7:00pm for parents and the community. Admission is $7.00.
There will be no school at Eel Ground First Nations School Tuesday April 24 in the morning and Wednesday April 25th in the afternoon due to deaths in the community. Students and staff send their condolences to the families.
For the past week or so, art from school district 16 students has been on display at the Artist’s Kave on Water Street. There were three categories of art: K – grade 5,Grade 6 – 8, and Grade 9 -12. The judges were Jay Shree Rai, Joe Thompson and Linda Gallant. Two of our students were awarded for their work, Jasmine Cloud and Mitchell McCormack.
