Fancy Nancy Party at Eel Ground School

Posted: February 5, 2010

Kindergarten and grade one students at Eel Ground First Nation School attended a Fancy Nancy Party on Friday, February 5. The party was organized by Miss Kassandra Donahue, the grade K-4 teacher, to raise the awareness level of literacy initiatives at the primary level and to give younger readers a memorable reading experience. Fancy Nancy is a series of children's books by author, Jane O'Connor. The books are brightly illustrated by Robin Glasser. Nancy, who is the main character in the books, enjoys dressing up fancy and likes sipping tea with her friends.Approximately 20 students attended the party. Students read Fancy Nancy stories, had a tea party, their nails painted and make-up and hair done, sang songs and played musical chairs. The children acted graciously and everyone said the party was STUPENDOUS !  Pictures of the party are in the Image Gallery.Check the Harper Collins web page for more information about Fancy Nancy.   http://www.harpercollinschildrens.com/kids/gamesandcontests/features/fan...
