One of our very own staff members was recently honoured for her work. Helen Bernard Ward was recently in Rothesay for The Dr. Marilyn Trenholme Counsell Literacy awards ceremony on Sunday November 20th. Mrs Bernard Ward recieved an award for her work in Early Childhood Literacy. She was one of five groups or individuals to be recognized in the province. She was recognized for her work at Eel Ground School where she organized a family reading night for the community as well as new programs promoting literacy.Trenholme Counsell, president of the New Brunswick Literacy Coalition, told recipients that a "massive effort" is needed in the province to challenge and support every person ,family and school.From all the staff and students congratulations Mrs. Bernard Ward!
